Our story

The Girl Meraki story began with a bed time routine.

Laying together in a small single bed was one little girl and her mama, two dreamers.

Maria, who had spent her life working in furniture and design feeding this passion to Paige who from a young age shared the same love of interiors.

Fast forward a decade or two, speed through a million design outings, a few thousand magazine inspiration cuttings, endless car trip conversations and the pair together opened their first store front in early 2017.  With the dream evolving and growing from week to week, the pair live and breathe their small interiors business which is clear to anyone who steps into their stunning Woolooware store.

Realist. Chocoholic. Lover of all things for the home.

Driven beyond belief, Maria has made a career working in the design, furniture and retail world for 30+ years. Having worked as Head of Operations for some of Sydney’s leading brands such as La Maison and Natuzzi Italia, she has gained a wealth of knowledge as well as hands on expertise in the field.

Hungry to chase the dream she shared with her daughter, Maria left her city based career to start the adventure that is Girl Meraki.

Her passion is to create a generous spirited business which inspires and encourage others to follow their interior dreams.

Brave.  Imaginative.  Lover of the left of centre.

An entrepreneur by nature, Paige has always been sure of one thing. That she was going to work for herself, this giving her the combination of creative freedom and the ability to build a smart business model to challenge herself with.

Starting on the neighbourhood footpath with handmade soaps, cards and sometimes hosting the local dog wash on the front driveway. Her passion and determination to go her own way was always clear.

She enjoys seeing their joint passions merge to compliment and serve each other in the space they now treat as their second home, welcome to everyone.

Following our hearts and who lives in them..

Girl Meraki feeds our creative souls, challenges our minds, and fills our hearts. Our family encourage us, support our crazy dream and through tragedy taught us exactly how short life can be. These special people are all that and more motivation to us.
